    Shared and Distinct Components of Spatial-Numerical Representations Across Tasks

    Concept: Tasks used to measure spatial–numerical associations (SNAs) differ substantially in their spatial coding, decision structure, response architecture, and response complexity. This project examines whether SNA effects observed across commonly used tasks reflect a single shared spatial–numerical representation or instead arise from distinct, task-dependent cognitive mechanisms by analyzing task-specific performance and cross-task correlations.

    How Does the Presence of Reference Point Illustration Modulates the Expression of SNAs in Magnitude Classification Task?

    Concept: Previous investigation of SNAs and SNARC effect in Turkish samples create an interesting observation. In the absense of an obvious reference presentation for comparison/classification, results points to a left-to-right oriented MNL. However, when the reference for comparison is visually absent, there is no support for the MNL account. The aim of this study is to investigate how responses to a magnitude classification task, which is a method frequently used in the study of SNAs, will be affected in MNL congruent and incongruent trials by creating contexts in which the reference point is visually present or absent on a number line during task execution.
